TARAA (The Animal Rescue & Adoption Agency) is a no-kill non-profit organization with 501 c3 status. All adoption donations are completely tax deductible. Our goal is to help obliterate the massive over-population of unwanted pets by educating the public about spay/neuter and by placing homeless pets into deserving, loving homes. We promote spay/neuter and are 100% NO-KILL. TARAA helps place all animals and every animal taken in is given the medical attention necessary. Special needs animals are never rejected. TARAA has placed, with the aid of Petco, PetSmart, and PetLand over 4, 000 pets in 13 years.

Adopting a friend

We have an application process. Cats and kittens are $80. Often we can provide some assistance if adopting more than one kitty. Dogs and puppies are $180.00. However, if they are owner surrendered then it is a $100.00 re-homing donation instead of the regular adoption donation. This adoption donation helps pay for the medical needs of the adopted pet (sterilization, vaccines, de-worming, HW control, and flea treatment) . You must be at least 23 years of age. You have to have never surrendered an animal to a kill shelter and you must have a safe environment for the animal. You must also agree to call us first if you should ever have to surrender the animal.
