So you’re ready to bring a new dog or cat to your home. First, you’re in the right place! Second, thank you for considering the adoption option.

To begin, you can view online our animals available for adoption. But because there is nothing like seeing the real thing, we invite you to visit our shelter and spend some time getting to know our animals in person.

We’ll ask you some questions about your daily lifestyle and animals that you currently own so that we can lead you to a pet that’s the right match for you, your family, and your lifestyle. After you have spent some time with the animals here and find one that makes your heart skip a beat, we’ll ask you to fill out an adoption application, which will hold the animal for you while we process your application. The fees for adopting animals at The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA help us provide medical care, food, and shelter the animals in our care. We never euthanize animals for space constraints, adoptable dogs and cats stay with us as long as it takes to find their forever homes. Learn more . . .
