Bichon puppy Rescue

As of 2015, Small Paws® Rescue of Tulsa, Oklahoma, has rescued and re-homed over 10, 000 Bichon Frises since its founding in 1998. The nonprofit 501(c)(3) group accepts owner surrenders and pulls dogs from shelters. The group's estimated monthly veterinarian bills range from $25, 000 and $50, 000, and the group covers the expense of flying a dog to a new home. Small Paws has been featured on Discovery Channel's Animal Planet, Inside Edition with Deborah Norville and NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.

Founded in 1944, North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington, New York, is the world's largest no-kill pet rescue organization and offers breed-specific adoption help. The group often obtains purebred Bichons after participating in puppy mill rescue efforts. They also foster Bichon Frises that need to be re-homed until a suitable adoptive situation is found.
